Same driver standards. Plus the truck.
Owner-operators leasing on with us go through the same driver qualification process as our Contract Drivers — same MVR review, same Clearinghouse check, same reference calls, same road test.
The difference is we also evaluate the truck. Our insurance carrier requires equipment to meet minimum standards: model year, condition, maintenance records, and proper inspections. Most newer well-maintained trucks pass without issue.
Not sure whether your truck qualifies? Send photos and the unit info before applying. We'll tell you straight whether it'll pass our equipment review. No application fees, no inspection fees.
What you actually need
- Valid Class A CDL. 21 years or older. 12+ months OTR experience.
- Clean MVR. No more than 1 moving violation in 36 months. No DUI in last 7 years.
- FMCSA Clearinghouse — clean or RTD-completed.
- Truck 2018 model year or newer (case-by-case for older with strong maintenance).
- Trailer: bring your own or rent one of ours — your choice.
- Annual DOT inspection current. Recent service records preferred.
- MC authority — yours or run under ours. We accommodate both arrangements.
- Liability insurance at required minimums — yours or via our group rates.
- Pass Pavas qualification interview. Real conversation, not a checklist.
